The Cleveland Cavaliers are in an enviable position.
In case the blockbuster deal goes through, they’ll have a point guard in Isaiah Thomas who is coming off a year where he outperformed Kyrie Irving (by a substantial amount) during the regular season.
When the hip of the acquisition remains problematic, LeBron James is going to be able to withstand more responsibilities, while Kevin Love and Jae Crowder staff up to maintain the 2016 winners playing in a high degree. Let’s not overlook the effects of incorporating Ante Zizic as depth, either.
If the transaction is vetoed due to Thomas’ health, the Cavaliers will soldier on with a malcontent Irving or find a new taker for the point guard. They’ll remain loaded with talent.
This offseason is going to be deemed a failure if they can not locate a massive return for Irving–and the Thomas swap surely qualifies as such–since fixing their main difficulty (defense) was not exactly done together with the additions of Derrick Rose, Jose Calderon and Jeff Green. But they could score with aplomb, which will make them favorites to win at least 54 games.
Because his era swells james does not appear to have diminished whatsoever. Love loves chemistry than with his superstar teammate, and Tristan Thompson is only advancing. It is one brimming over with talent, and most of the key pieces fit together well, although this might be an old roster.
