Atlanta Braves at Washington Nationals MLB Pick – September 15th

The wins just keep coming! Last night we picked up yet another underdog winner, now around the Atlanta Braves (+108) against the Washington Nationals. The line just didn’t make any sense as the Braves were the better team, and with Mike Foltynewicz beginning, I believed that they had the best of their pitching matchup. While Folty had struggled in the summer, he figured things out had been sent down to the minors and was fantastic. So, I felt as though I was to pick up value and fired the Braves.
Foltynewicz picked up the win, also shined as he pitched six innings of all both one-run ball on just four hits. Surprisingly enough, Nationals starter Austin Voth much paired Foltynewicz pitch for pitch because he pitched five and also two-thirds of an inning and allowed just one run. However, the difficulty for the Nationals was the last night that is exact same as it has been all season long, the bullpen.
The Nationals bullpen was awful this year. They have spent as the worst pen in the Universe, and they surely have the worst relief team of any team that is still in contention. And they were awful. Even the Washington bullpen got blasted in only over three innings of work for a couple of nine runs, despite what was a very competitive game for the majority of the evening and when the smoke cleared, the Braves took home a blowout 10-1 success.
Since they have lost seven out of their past ten matches the reduction proved to be a huge one for the Nationals, and the Chicago Cubs are just a game and a half of Washington for the wild card in the National League. The Brewers are one game out, to make things worse, and the Mets and Phillies are in the mix too. If the Nationals can not find a way to turn things around fast, they are going to be left out come playoff time.
For Atlantathey locked up a playoff place last night with the win and therefore so are days off from locking up the division title as well. With reduction and the Braves triumph by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta currently only paths LA by three matches for the very best record in the league, and the best seed in the match. Atlanta would enjoy nothing more than today, just knock on off the Nats out of contention. For today’s pick, we’ll stay right here at the country’s Capital since the Nationals host the Braves for sport three.
The Atlanta Braves are all currently looking this morning. The Braves have completely dominated this series so far as they hold a cumulative run advantage that was 15-1 and have won both games by multiple runs. And as a notice that was surprising, the Nationals were actually favored in both of the two games, but that didn’t prevent the Braves out of blowing them out. The Braves are looking to finish the sweep off and then knock on the Nationals back into the the wild card conversation this day.
Starting for the Braves is Max Fried (16-5 4.02 ERA), also for the Nationals it is Anibal Sanchez (8-8 4.04 ERA). The game complete over-under is place at nine and a half conducts. The Braves have been -113 street favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 10:38 PM PST from Nationals Park at Washington DC.
Max Fried was not assumed to be a part of the rotation this season. He began throwing out of the bullpen to get Atlanta and was called up for a single place beginning. However, if he looked great, he got a second, and then another beginning. That trend continued for a few months, and Fried earned his keep and has been appointed a formal portion of this Atlanta.
And he’s been great ever since. Fried directs the NL and trails Stephen Strasburg for the National League lead with three wins. He had not lost a beginning, although he lost his last start. What has been the thing that this season has been done by Fried is win matches. The Braves have been 21-7 in games this season, in which Fried has started. He pitched against those same Nationals two weeks back and had one of his best starts as he threw seven innings and allowed no runs and just one hit while striking out nine.
Anibal Sanchez continues to be all over the area this year. Back in April he had been awful with an ERA of almost six runs. By losing his first six decisions, he began his season out. He put together a stretch in which he allowed one run or less in six from eight starts and won his eight conclusions. And here in September he has begun to fight again, using a 0-2 record and 6.75 ERA in two starts.
Sanchez has created four starts against the Braves this season. In his first start, he had been fantastic, pitching six shutout innings. But in the next few starts he got smashed for eleven runs on twenty-two strikes and pitched a combined sixteen innings. He faced the Braves on July 31st and also gave up a season-high ten hits and the Nationals lost.
This was a really bad number as it started with Washington. It made no sense. , I pounced on it. The sharps’ rest followed all that early action has flipped into where it stands now this number, with the Braves as small road favorites. And while that number is a sharper one, I feel like there’s significant value financing Atlanta.
We know that Fried is going to be great. He has been excellent all year and possesses the Nationals this year. And Sanchez is acceptable, or he gets smashed. Because he isn’t going to be able to pitch the whole game, However, in fact, it doesn’t matter at that . At some point the Nationals will have to turn over matters to their dreadful bullpen, and you can not expect the Braves to penalize them, when they do.
Even the Washington bullpen has gotten for eleven earned runs in the first two matches of the series, hammered, and I’d expect that trend to continue now. So, maybe the Braves get to Sanchez ancient, or perhaps they need to wait until the bullpen becomes involved, but either way I visit lots of runs going on the board for Atlanta. So that makes me adore a drama around the Braves. Give the Atlanta Braves to me !
