How NFL Teams Fare ATS After Double-Digit Wins or Losses in Week 1

Seven teams got defeated by double digits in Week 1 of those 2019 NFL year and today we are watching then overcorrection of odds and spreads because of the overreaction that is immediate for Week two. But within the previous five seasons, the teams that got wrecked by 10 points or more in their opening game have insured the spread 63% of their period in Week 2.
There were 34 cases of teams losing from points in Week 1 and their record is 21-12-1 ATS for Week two. That listing seemed so dubious I needed to double the consequence myself from our stats man (shout-out to May!) .
See the table under Possible angles you could take advantage of for Week 2 and that illustrates this trend:
As you can see, that the ATS percentage does not change much dependent on the sample size of the last 3 seasons, this past year and also the last five seasons. Now, this isn’t me to take out another mortgage and set it about the Dolphins +19??distribute vs the Patriots however there’s some merit to throwing a bounce-back from groups in Week two by these keeping games close or winning straight (52.9% over past five years).
The seven teams that lost in Week 1 by 10 points or more would be the Dolphins, Steelers, Browns, Jaguars, Falcons, Giants and Buccaneers.
We would not be an authority on chances and trends if we did examine the side and find out the way that teams do after crushing an opponent in Week 1. According to the past five seasons, the teams which won by 10 points or more in Week 1 have just covered in 45.5 percent of the matches in Week 2.
View the table below for the last three seasons, 2018 and past five seasons:
There’s a regression from these winners who is likely because defenses have and they won’t be caught off guard such as Week 1 sufferers, as evidenced in the table above.
It’s also because of inflated spreads which are not a true representation of the way those teams are ATS. As an example, the seven groups that won by 10 points or more in Week 1 are the Titans, Chiefs, Ravens, Vikings, Cowboys, 49ers and Patriots.
