World Grand Prix: Michael van Gerwen, Glen Durrant, Dave Chisnall and Chris Dobey chase title

Michael van Gerwen is the red-hot favourite to win the World Grand Prix but in a tournament thats seen seeds sprinkled, Rod Studd and Wayne Mardle contemplate the semi-finals.
Friday is not however, the four guys left standing have been responsible.
Hes never defended the name although van Gerwen is your four-time winner, he is also the sole seed remaining after the rest of the worlds leading eight were scattered by the ending of this quarter-finals.
The Dutchman takes on surprise semi-finalist Chris Dobey, whos enjoying the very best week of his profession, while at the other semi-final Glen Durrants fairy-tale introduction year on the PDC continues from a resurgent Dave Chisnall, that had been defeated in the final by Phil Taylor six years back.

Will not have everything his own way against Hollywood, whose ending was a part of the championship and hell desire more of the exact same to issue Van Gerwen.
Dobey was brilliant in beating Gary Anderson, in beating Ricky Evans, written, then battled his way. He has shown he can win in lots of ways this week and his double-to-start has been one of the very finest, but Van Gerwen has been stirred in by the beast.
There are several questions of MvG after a year that was inconsistent despite winning the Premier League, the Masters and the World Championship along with the Group of Pro Tour and European Tour names.
But this week hes looked in the disposition in living a scare against Jamie Hughes and needing to find his very best against Mervyn King, this will be the time of year that he comes alive and hes got a 100 percent record against Dobey within their career head-to-head.
Experts verdict – Van Gerwen is your favorite as everyone besides Chris Dobey will and that I expect Van Gerwen to triumph. Whatever happens, if Chris perform it has been a really successful week and can go up.
Hes beaten the greatest win of his career, Gary Anderson, and he has got further than he has ever got in attaining a TV semi-final, he has had and I expect he pushes . Rod Studd

In their own words…
Michael van Gerwen – I had to create something special and as Mervyn played an excellent game, that I had to work hard.
I anticipate a fantastic game but the format is not in his favour and it suits me. So I want to be sure I place him because he is a lousy dart player he has not come this far he has a great deal of talent.
That can be the time of season when youre able to make a #1m in just a couple months so I have to make sure Im sharp.
Chris Dobey – I wasnt feeling it in a couple of legs, that is why I changed and I believe I did the ideal thing as I could not continue going on like that.
Double 16 that is why I took the decision to get back to 16s, As soon as I took out the 100 end with treble 16. It is a competition, I have played double in. Since I began darts Double out contests and its a terrific format for me.
I will never look past my opponent. Obviously Michael is unique, the world No 1, but I will prepare myself if I am going into some game and Ill be at my very best.
Chizzy had been allowed as one to see following some brilliant type on the floor this year which has three Professional Tour titles and 3 nine-darters and a change of darts.
Hes lived up to this billing from the very first round where he accounted for Gerwyn Price plus he hasnt looked back in a tournament in which hes adequate pedigree, it is the fourth time in the last seven years hes reached the final eight and he appears in the perfect shape to finally break his main duck.
Duzzas year continues to go against strength-to-strength, with won his Tour card in January the three-time BDO world champion won a Pro Tour name within a month, and it has gone on to achieve the World Matchplay semi-final on his introduction and the Grand Prix on his first showing.
The pair have met twice before, for example a Pro Tour final in February at which Chizzy prevailed, where it was won by Duzza along with Darts Grand Slam last 16 two years back – night looks like being just another thriller.
Professionals verdict – the reason I say that is that hes playing and becoming his rhythm faster but in addition his standard of play is far better in general and that I think Chizzy wins very handsomely.
Chisnall has now gone 16 games without averaging over 85 at a double-to-start format, when he does this against Glen then he wins as Glen has been dodging a few too many bullets.
I dont think Chizzy, that has confidence will let him off. I see him winning and then I see him bothering Van Gerwen at the closing. Wayne Mardle

Glen Durrant – I must be elated but I am scratching my head askingam I in the semi-final. But what I will say is that if these opportunities present themselves you have got to catch them.
It is not about experience that is excellent, and Im towards the end of my career, maybe five or six decades, I am here to win. When I had been 20 or even 30 then its a week however I understand exactly what the consequence is and I like putting stress on myself, even if I can win I am also from the Grand Slam.
Chizzy is a winner whos playing fantastic while I am pulling and pulling, a famous PDC participant but I am going a hit in the round and catching them!
Dave Chisnall – it is a format that was tricky as we have seen with the seeds heading out but I try and plod on, eliminate and running hit dozens and hit doubles.
Playing Gerwyn in the first round – and it was a great game that went the way but I have had three distinct games. Steve [Bunting] wasnt well and Nathan is this a scrappy player.
It has been a year, Im very happy in your home also so Im glad when I move.
Coverage of the semi-finals of the World Grand Prix gets underway on Friday night from 7pm on Sky Sports Action & Main Event.
