WWE talking points: The weekly winners and losers in the world of sports entertainment

We are less than two weeks live on Sky Sports Box Office, along with there is a card that is tasty building.
We now know who will challenge for the Universal name along with the Raw women’s name, three more titles fell in the race to become King of the gang, and that there have been moments on both Raw and SmackDown this week which might have enormous consequences come September 15.
Very good Week
Bayley
Most fans would have marked the SmackDown women’s winner as the underdog heading into her title defence against Charlotte. Maybe not anymore.
Bayley spectacularly turned in the conclusion of Raw on Becky Lynch, rekindling her friendship with Sasha Banks in style. Twenty-four hours afterwards and’The Boss‘ returned the favour by simply attacking Charlotte on SmackDown.
With inventories in her corner, the likelihood of this Hugger retaining the grim belt have shifted in her favour.
Chad Gable
Gable has returned in style to SmackDown, beating Andrade and Shelton Benjamin to achieve the King of the Ring tournament’s finals.
It’s a stunning re-emergence for somebody who spent a spell buried at the SmackDown roster.
Conquer Elias week and then Gable is going to Clash of Champions.
NXT UK
Every name on the card in NXT Takeover: Cardiff should be applauded for a wonderful event last weekend.
Fans in the Motorpoint Arena at the Welsh funds were treated to a epic battles as two names changed hands, Tyler Bate came within a whisker of toppling NXT UK champion WALTER and Cesaro made a guest appearance.
Given the enormous array of talent on the roster, so it is no surprise that the popularity of NXT UK is growing at a pace that is rapid. Pete Dunne has spearheaded the rise but even with his lack at Takeover, the series was one to savour.
It can only serve to reinforce the case for the UK to stage a major pay-per-view occasion.
Braun Strowman
When it was confirmed he will face his team winner Seth Rollins to the WWE Universal title the Monster could develop into a champion.
Strowman has had chances to shoot the strap falling short to the likes of Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns.
Is this the moment he reaches the surface of the hill?
Poor Week
Daniel Bryan
Just a few months before, Bryan was WWE Champion with all the ominous Erick Rowan. No more holding the belt, he also felt the wrath of Rowan this week, that turned his ally.
An extremely lone figure is cutting off on over the brand that is grim with no opponent at Clash of Champions and flying .
The question is simply: What’s next?
Ali
After overcoming Buddy Murphy in a King of the Ring Ali endured what some might consider an unexpected defeat in this SmackDown bracket’s semi-finals to Elias.
It is a drawback for a celebrity who was beginning to make enormous strides. This is merely a temporary blip for your high-flyer.
Becky Lynch
‚The Man‘ was flying high from the WWE lately but the deception of Bayley could cause some concern for your Lasskicker heading at Clash of Champions right into her name defence against Sasha inventories.
One on one, Banks is stiff competition, but Becky should keep if the SmackDown women’s champion decide to make her presence known.
