Robert Snodgrass targets win at Aston Villa as Manuel Pellegrini backs Declan Rice

Declan Rice and west Ham duo Robert Snodgrass suffered a tough time but the pair will soon back in Premier League action on Monday night.
Scotland dropped both the European Qualifiers to Russia along with Belgium, the 4-0 defeat on the latter had been the first time Snodgrass had played for Scotland a year ago since losing by precisely the exact identical score to the same resistance.
“This was a bitterly disappointing few results for us ,” said Snodgrass.
“It was my very first start at a lengthy time for Scotland, and to get beat the way we did…
“We turned off at critical times and if they’ve got the likes of [Kevin] De Bruyne, [Romelu] Lukaku and [Dries] Mertens at the side they could cause you difficulties and that is what they done.”
Snodgrass is keen to concentrate on the challenge ahead, especially a trip to a few of their clubs, Aston Villa, on Monday Night Football in the front of the Sky cameras.
“we would like to try and win the game in Aston Villa as, to keep on progressing, we must keep on winning football matches and will need to bring different ideas to split these sorts of teams down.
“Aston Villa are a really good side. I have watched them a lot this season because of the fact I have been around and kept in touch with a number of their players and staff, and we’re going to have to be at our best to find a outcome.”
Snodgrass’ West Ham team-mate Declan Rice has also been facing a tough time on the stage after he received death threats for selecting to play for England the Republic of Ireland.
In addition, he came in for some criticism because of his mistake which led against England at the European Qualifier of Tuesday at St Mary’s.
Hammers manager Manuel Pellegrini is convinced Rice has the disposition to carry everything into his stride and prosper for the national side:”Declan is a very young player, he’s improving in every game he plays,” said Pellegrini.
“He is only 20 years old and now I believe with his era it’s very important he performs for England and it is essential for him the way he will demonstrate he functions.
“You can expect these mistakes for any kind of player. He’s advancing and in this place he’s currently performing well for the moment.
“If you are 20 years old you always need to play, but we will see if he’s some muscle issue. For the moment Declan must keep on playing.”
“When I shot him from this team last year I told him you want a few more games to function in that position, he always is advancing and wants to learn. He always knows what he’s doing wrong and he wants to improve on.”
“He’s played at the best level for the two games [for England] which will give him assurance.”
